It’s safe to say I am passionate about my career..sometimes to a fault, if that’s possible. With nearly 25 years of hands on experience in the OR, I’ve worked in clinical healthcare for over 30 years. I launched into a new level of my career in 2013 when I became board certified as a Surgical First Assistant.
 
I’ve had the opportunity to learn and grow alongside some amazing surgeons, RN’s, CST’s and many others. It’s been my desire for some time to begin to share so many of the valuable precepts I’ve learned with you, the Surgical Professional student. Whether you are a Medical Student, a Surgical Residency Intern or a PA student, you have an opportunity to glean from this team’s experienced insights and perspective.
 
My hope and expectation is that OR teams everywhere will be astounded at how well prepared and skilled you are! There has been no improvement, in all my years, of how ill-prepared students and Residents are to enter the OR for their training.
 
Learning the basic skills to even enter the OR competently takes valuable time away from meeting your bigger educational goals while there.
